Smartphones That Age Too Fast

You know those solid flip phones that wouldn’t crack in a fall? Nowadays, phones, impressive as they are, run on a timer. Between fragile displays that crack with a drop and software patches that slow old ones down — it’s as if they’re programmed to die. Its batteries no longer hold a charge after about two years, and you’re literally spending the price of a new phone on parts alone.
Furniture That Falls Apart

And it is gone — the time when furnishings were designed for a lifetime. Nowadays, the majority of furniture is mass-produced from products such as particle board — rather than real wood. They look cool, but they are not really made to be used very often. Even after just a few years, dresser drawers rattle, shelves wobble, legs wobble.

Cars Loaded With Tech Issues

New cars are pre-installed with touchscreens, parking sensors & connectivity apps, which often degrade faster than the car. Repairing these high-tech parts can cost you a lot compared to the previous cars that were simple enough. Even small software problems can ruin the car and get you to sell the car ahead of schedule.
Clothes That Wear Out Quickly

Fast fashion has made clothing more affordable, but at what price? Many of them are made of fabrics that sag or stretch out of shape after a few wears. On the other hand, older clothing was made to last, perhaps from materials that would withstand hundreds of washings. So now we are always buying cheap ones and paying a lot more in the long run.
Kitchen Appliances That Break Down

Back then, refrigerators, ovens & washing machines functioned for decades. Now, most are going down shortly after their warranty expires. Manufacturers use lower-quality parts in these appliances, which are hard to repair. So, once an appliance is broken, we often have to buy a new one. It’s annoying when once-good brands now produce items that only last 5 years, isn’t it?
Sneakers That Never Make the Mile

Sneakers used to be durable, especially the brands you knew and loved. Even expensive shoes these days seem to break down in no time. The soles splinter, the padding collapses & the cloth tears within a few months of regular wear. Whether you wear them walking or in the gym, there isn’t a pair that won’t break before you know it.
Electronics With Built-In Expiration Dates

Laptops, TVs, and other electronics might start off very well but don’t last long. Internals (such as processors or motherboards) can go bad after only a few years, and they’re either too expensive or simply unrepairable. Most electronics can’t be fixed; sealed batteries and exclusive parts just don’t make good replacements.
Toys That Break Too Easily

Back then, our toys were crafted of hard materials such as wood or thick plastic, but now, most are made from cheap plastics that break or snap under the slightest touch. These days, parents keep replacing broken toys, and kids get upset when their favorite toys don’t last.
Lightbulbs That Burn Out Quickly

Remember the old fluorescent bulbs that lasted years? Current LED bulbs promise to be energy efficient and last for a long time, but most of them don’t. The cheap bulbs burn out or dim much sooner than expected.
Books That Fall Apart

Hardcovers that were once loved generations ago now can barely get past the first few pages without ripping apart. Many books are produced now with thinner pages, weaker binding glue, and cheaper covers that soon peel away.
