It’s easy to feel swayed by the appeal of buying luxury things. And the whole process is fun—saving some cash & doing your research before finally treating yourself to something fancy. Sadly, that’s when you find out it might not have been worth the splurge. Here are the ten most disappointing “luxury” purchases I’ve made—take them as a lesson to learn from!

Designer Sunglasses That Scratch Easily
Shelling out a small fortune for sunglasses would mean you’re getting the Fort Knox of eyewear, right? Wrong. My fancy shades ended up being far more fragile than I’d like and a couple of weeks later, they looked like they’d gone a few rounds with a sandblaster. Lesson learned—expensive doesn’t always mean invincible.
High-End Smartphone That Quickly Became Obsolete
Getting the latest smartphone used to feel like joining an exclusive club but that feeling is only temporary. Despite the fancy materials & technology, my sleep quality didn’t improve because this new one didn’t fit my back the way I had hoped. So much for dreaming in luxury—I should’ve stuck to getting my old one professionally cleaned.
