The ‘90s was a time when cartoons were everywhere, the internet was just a baby & snack time was the highlight of any kid’s day. Eating felt like an adventure and also a real sugar rush. During this decade, several iconic snacks emerged that became a big part of our childhoods. So, let’s check out twelve childhood snacks from the 90s and how they changed our taste buds. Of course, you can still buy a lot of them now. But eating them today will never compare to the sheer joy of eating these snacks during the ’90s!

Fruit Gushers were little fruity gems that exploded with juice the moment you bit into them. They launched in the early 90s and soon became the height of the fruit snack craze. And since they were in tiny, easy-to-carry packets, they were perfect for a quick snack fix on the playground. Each bite was utterly delicious. You just couldn’t wait to try that sweet liquid center!

Honestly, eating Dunkaroos made us feel like chefs because we could mix & match each cookie with the perfect amount of frosting.

Even though they were launched in the ‘80s, Lunchables became very popular school lunches during the ‘90s. Suddenly, you could build your own mini pizzas or crackers with cheese & ham right at your lunch table. What could be better?! Now, kids had the power to create their own lunchtime creations or even trade foods with friends to make the perfect meal.

With Gogurts, eating yogurt without a spoon became possible—and cool. They were launched in 1998 and designed for the on-the-move lifestyle of the 90s kid. Best of all, you could also freeze Gogurts to make the best cool treat for hot days. The ‘90 were a decade focused on change and Gogurts were proof that anything could get a fun makeover!

Who didn’t love Bagel Bites? These mini pizza bagels were an excellent after-school snack or quick lunch since they combined two of kids’ favorite things—bagels & pizza. Just pop them in the microwave and you’re done. Really, eating Bagel Bites made us feel like we were getting away with eating pizza anytime we wanted. They’d turn your living room or school cafeteria into a pizza party at any time!

With their twist-off tops and squeeze-to-drink bottles, it’s not hard to see why Squeezit drinks were all the rage. Each bottle was a bright color and each one had a special flavor that you just had to get your hands on. Plus, the sheer novelty of squeezing your drink out of a plastic bottle made staying hydrated a lot more enjoyable.

With wild new flavors emerging all the time, they were a great breakfast for kids running late to the bus—or a delicious lunch for those who could wait! Best of all, it didn’t matter if you were a fan of the frosted varieties or preferred the unfrosted ones. Pop Tarts had something for everyone.

Just the anticipation of finding out which colors and shapes you’d get in each pack made opening a Shark Bites pouch rather exciting.
