You might notice the obvious signs of attraction, like someone maintaining eye contact with you, but it turns out there are some subtle signs, too, that you might miss.
A smaller room

Listen to how the other person speaks. You might notice that when they’re talking to you, their voice drops more than normal, and that’s a good sign that they’re into you. It’s not a guarantee, of course, but it’s still positive news.
It’s even more telling when you notice that the rest of their body has become calmer, too. People tend to change their pitch when they’re around someone they think is attractive, even when they don’t realize they’re doing it.
Close, but not quite

You should keep an eye on the things around you. Not in a creepy way or anything, that’d be weird, just watch for how they keep touching the edge of the table and your side of the menu. They’re essentially trying to get close to you without touching you.
Sometimes, it’s nerves, yes, but sometimes, it’s a way to minimize the distance between the two of you.Â
A little extra air

Pauses. They can mean different things depending on who you’re with, and when you’re with the right person, a pause doesn’t have to be anything to worry about. Silence can be just that, silence.
Someone who’s attracted to you isn’t going to rush to fill every silence with words. They might smile instead or look at your face, and then look away, but either way, they’re able to tolerate the silence much better with someone they’re into.
There it is

People don’t realize how telling their eyebrows actually are. They really should. Notice someone’s eyebrows jumping slightly when they see you, before the rest of their face catches up? That could be a sign that they’re attracted to you.
It could also be a sign that they’re surprised or interested, so maybe don’t start planning a wedding just yet. Still, take it as a good thing whenever someone raises their eyebrows for half a second when looking at you.
Almost facing you

Someone else could be talking to them, but really, it doesn’t matter, because their chin’s tilted toward you. The rest of them’s facing away because turning too much in your direction would give the game away. But their chin’s pointed to you.
It’s not definitive proof, yet there’s a good chance that they’re more interested in you than the person they’re talking to. It’s especially telling when they do it while you’re speaking or laughing.
After the risky sentence

Someone revealing something personal to you might be important. What really matters, however, is how they act afterward, and you might see them look down for a second. It’s not like they’re completely embarrassed or anything, but they are looking away.
A head that tilts down, along with a small smile and forward gaze? It’s a pretty recognizable flirting expression, and it means a lot when they do it after telling you something personal. Could be a joke, could be a compliment, it’s all the same.
Nothing clenched

A person’s hands, and what they do with them, do a lot of talking. A person who keeps their wrists up while they’re talking to you, perhaps with their palms open on the table, is telling you something. What is it?
That they’re feeling open toward you, and they’re feeling a lot less defensive, too. People usually keep their arms crossed and fingers looking tight when they’re uncomfortable. When they’re doing the opposite, well, they’re feeling the opposite as well.
Already with you

You’re not finished talking. However, they’re still nodding along slightly while you try to find the end of your sentence, and that’s usually a sign that they’re following along closely. Maybe a little too closely.
It’s a bit more than politeness, and it’s a strong indicator that someone is really listening to you. They really value what you’ve got to tell them.Â
Nobody catches this

Shoulder movements aren’t always obvious, but they sure are useful. Someone who drops their shoulders slightly around you may be attracted to you, since it’s a suggestion that they’re dropping their armor.
They’ve become more relaxed around you, and they’re physically unclenching themselves because of it. Congratulations. They’re probably attracted to you, or at the very least, you make them feel comfortable.
Half hidden laughter

It’s such a giveaway when someone keeps covering their mouth with their hands. Not always, life’s not that easy, but it’s usually a good sign when someone keeps doing it after laughing. They might cover half their face, too.
That usually means that they’re trying not to react too much around you because they’re super conscious of how they come across. You know, because they want to make a good impression.
Your turn, then theirs

They look at the things that you’ve just finished touching, whether that’s a glass you’ve just drunk from or a spot on the table. Within a few seconds, they’re touching it too, although it’s not like they’re reaching over to do it.
They just subtly tap the same spots and objects as you because these items have history. These items have you on them. The other person might be too shy to touch you directly, so they’ll settle for the next best thing, which is the stuff you’ve touched.
Suddenly tidier

You might notice then, when you come closer to them, their hands suddenly get busy fixing things that really aren’t a problem. Their ring needs fixing and their sleeves need smoothing, apparently. Except they really don’t.
The truth is, these actions count as small ways of grooming yourself and preening, things that people usually only do around attractive people. They’re tidying themselves up to make sure they come across in the right way because they really value your opinion.
