There are moments when you never know if someone likes you or not. They might not say it, but some subtle hints can tip you off. Such little clues are generally in how they treat you or behave when you’re together. These are signs you might be seeing that tell you they don’t really want to be around you as much as you thought. Pay attention to these little things to know how a person really feels about you.

They Avoid Eye Contact
If someone is not looking at you, they may not be paying attention to you. They may be looking at their phone or around the room – instead of looking at you as you speak. That little sign can tell you that they aren’t really interested or invested in the conversation.
Short or Unenthusiastic Responses
If they respond with one-word answers or show no enthusiasm, they’re probably not enjoying the conversation. For instance, if you ask them how their day went and they respond “ok”, that shows they don’t want to talk about it. They may not want to hear about your day, nor do they care to continue.
They Seem Distracted
If they’re constantly on their phone, checking their watch, looking around, they aren’t really present. Or they are just bored or thinking something else. This distraction indicates that they’d rather be somewhere else, with someone else.
They Don’t Initiate Plans
When you’re always the one to contact to make arrangements, it can indicate they don’t want to hang out with you. Maybe they never say they’d like to hang out or aren’t interested when you offer to do so. This lack of effort usually means they are not enjoying your company as much as you may assume.
They’re Always Busy
There is nothing wrong with being busy. But if they constantly say they are busy when you want to plan something, it could be because they don’t want to be around you. If they have an excuse every time you make an arrangement, then they might be trying to avoid you.
Body Language Feels Closed Off
When someone talks, their body language says a lot. Gestures like crossing their arms, staring away from you, turning their body away from you show that they’re not interested or willing to interact with you. That’s their form of expression without speaking.
Lack of Genuine Smiles or Laughs
When someone is happy to be with you, they laugh — at least a small chuckle or smile. If they don’t respond in a meaningful way, like smile when you tell a joke or are bored when you’re excited about something, then they’re not enjoying themselves with you.
They Don’t Share Personal Things
When people aren’t forthcoming about their feelings, ideas or lives, it may be because they don’t trust you or want to be near you. In close relationships, people share personal things with each other. But if someone doesn’t want to form a real relationship, then they wouldn’t want to share personal things with each other.
They Seem Irritable Around You
If they get annoyed or upset when they’re around you, that means they don’t like you. Sometimes they will snap at you or be fast tempered or impatient. This frustration may be a sign they’re not happy or relaxed around you.
They Don’t Remember What You Say
If someone forgets something you’ve shared with them, such as details about your life or things that happened between you, then it means they’re not paying attention – or they don’t care about the connection. When they lose track of what you have said to them or don’t care as much about things that are important to you, they aren’t really interested in the relationship.
