Once you notice how much some of these celebrities seem to be cartoon lookalikes, it’s hard to unsee them.
Linda Hunt
There’s no need for giant superhero glasses to make The Incredibles’ Edna Mode comparison work. No, actress Linda Hunt’s small frame and short dark hair do it all. Her compact features and serious little stare help, too.
The similarities are pretty uncanny, especially when you look at Edna’s blunt black bob and tiny body. Even the height fits. Hunt is 4 feet 9 inches tall, and Edna was deliberately drawn as very petite. The glasses are just the cherry on the cake.
Steve Harvey
It sounds silly. But put a picture of Steve Harvey next to Mr. Potato Head from the Toy Story franchise, and you’ll notice the similarities. Yes, the famous mustache is doing a lot here, but there’s also the bald head and heavy eyebrows.
Let’s not forget the broad smile and expressive face. Mr. Potato Head has almost the same collection of features as everyone’s favorite game show host. The only difference is that they’re arranged on a plastic potato instead.
Martin Scorsese
One of the major reasons for Martin Scorsese’s similarities with Up’s Carl Fredricksen is the glasses. Both of them wear thick, dark frames that take up a surprising amount of their faces. They also both have white hair and strong eyebrows, which really helps.
Carl is 78 during the events of Up. Scorsese is now in his 80s, so the age gap doesn’t exactly ruin the illusion, either. The comparison only becomes clearer when Scorsese looks annoyed. It’s kind of spooky, really.
Christopher Lloyd
It’s not really a surprise how much Christopher Lloyd looks like Professor Farnsworth. Lloyd has spent years looking like somebody who might accidentally invent a time machine, after all. The wild white hair and prominent nose make that comparison even stronger.
The major difference is that Farnsworth is drawn much thinner and more exaggerated. He’s a cartoon character, after all. But still, the basic ingredients between Futurama’s Farnsworth and Christopher Lloyd are pretty clear.
John Goodman
Hollywood couldn’t deny this one. Actor John Goodman looks so much like Fred Flintstone that he actually played the character in the 1994 live-action Flintstones movie. It’s really not hard to see why.
Goodman has the same broad face and heavy build, as well as the same big grin and thick dark hair. It’s even more obvious when you see Fred’s blue necktie on Goodman. It seems that it’s a comparison that’s worked in his favor.
Ed Sheeran
Red hair is the main reason for this comparison, but it doesn’t really stop there. Both Ed Sheeran and Chuckie Finster from Rugrats have messy ginger hair and pale skin. They’ve both got slightly awkward expressions, too.
The only real difference is that Chuckie also wears large glasses, but Sheeran doesn’t usually do that. That’s where the older version of Chuckie from All Grown Up! comes in. He’s lankier, and there’s even one image of him holding a guitar. It’s kind of freaky.
Jason Momoa
Actor Jason Momoa has a real scar running through his left eyebrow. That’s where the comparisons to Scar from The Lion King really begin. The similarities become clearer when you see Momoa’s long dark hair and strong brow. The narrow eyes help, too.
That’s not to say that Momoa looks exactly like the cartoon lion or anything, definitely not. But if there were ever a version of The Lion King that had real actors instead of lions, he’d be a perfect match for Scar.
Adrien Brody
Have a look at the noses, and you’ll start to see the similarities. Adrien Brody has a long, narrow face with a very noticeable nose, and Alfredo Linguini from Ratatouille looks very similar. True, Linguini’s nose is quite a bit stretched out compared to Brody.
But the dark eyebrows and the slim build make similarities stand out even more. Brody looks much more polished in real life, obviously, but it’s a different story when you catch him clean-shaven from the right angle.
Amanda Seyfried
It’s not surprising that Tangled’s Rapunzel is such a good match for Amanda Seyfried. She has the kind of eyes animators usually have to exaggerate, after all, as they’re so large and pale. Their matching long blond hair doesn’t take away from their similarities, either.
There have actually been quite a few fashion magazines that have described Seyfried’s hair as Rapunzel-like. Hers stops well short of Rapunzel’s roughly 70-feet-long hair, however, that kind of length would make red carpets way too difficult.
Kathy Griffin
Take away Yzma’s purple skin and enormous eyelashes for a second. You’ll be left with a comparison that makes a lot more sense. Comedienne Kathy Griffin has high cheekbones and a narrow jaw, along with large eyes. They’re pretty similar.
Yzma has all of that turned up to cartoon level. Very turned up. It’s not like every photo of Griffin looks like Yzma, but still, the resemblance is certainly there.
