Dating after 50 can still be fun and romantic, but there are a few things that women do at that age that men find unattractive.
Acting as though every man her age is disappointing

It’s okay if she might’ve had enough bad dates to fill a notebook. It’s not okay when she talks about every man her age being dull or emotionally unavailable. It’s enough to make the guy across from her start wondering why he bothered showing up.
Everyone his age is the same, apparently, so there’s really no point in trying to develop a relationship further. Plenty of older adults date because they want companionship and affection. That’s normal. An argument about everyone who came before them just isn’t right.
Trying too hard to appear decades younger

Let’s get one thing straight, there’s nothing wrong with liking trendy clothes and going out late. Turning 50 doesn’t mean you’re suddenly ancient, after all. The issue is when some women make looking younger their whole personality, and refuse to accept the truth.
You know the kind of woman, she uses filters to erase any wrinkles and keeps sharing stories about how she always gets mistaken for 35. Sure. It gets tiring being around that kind of person. Most men can handle a real age, so there’s no point in being nervous about having one.
Refusing to try anything new

Some women over 50 seem to think that they’re too old to try anything new. They’ll refuse to visit a different restaurant or even try something as simple as a new TV show because, apparently, their age stops them from doing that.
Men over 50 often don’t want to be around women like that. No, they want to be with women who want to do things with them, rather than a woman who keeps repeating the same day forever. A woman who doesn’t leave any room for surprise certainly isn’t attractive.
Being openly bitter about aging

Everyone knows that aging is hard sometimes. You start complaining about your knees and your sleep, for example, and that’s perfectly fine. But bitterness about aging is different. It’s the kind of woman who talks about every birthday negatively and snaps at younger women.
She assumes men only notice youth anyway, so she behaves in a way that makes aging always seem bad. That’s not exactly going to make them seem nice to be around. Constant anger about aging drains the mood pretty quickly.
Assuming intimacy no longer matters

Then there are those women who decide that physical closeness is beneath them. They seem to think intimacy is something only younger people do, and to be intimate when you’re older is simply immature. Most older men don’t feel that way, though.
That’s not to say men are owed sex or that it’s essential to a good relationship, definitely not. It’s just that shutting down touch or affection makes the relationship suffer. It becomes companionship without any kind of romance.Â
Talking as though her romantic life is already behind her

‘That part of my life is over.’ It’s something a few older women will say because they think they’re being practical, but really, it’s a weird thing to bring up on a date. You’re never ever too old for love or for a relationship.
There’s no reason for a woman to talk as though love was something that happened once, years ago. Newsflash, that’s just not true. Guys start checking out when they hear that because they start wondering what exactly they’re doing there.
Seeming to want a retirement provider rather than a partner

Being practical is one thing. Turning every dinner date into an interview about pensions is another. It’s okay to have questions about savings and retirement plans, sure, but only later on in a relationship.Â
Guys aren’t attracted to women who ask about it straight away. It makes him feel like he’s not on a date and that he’s become a financial solution with a pulse. Not exactly the start of a good relationship.Â
Acting embarrassed by gray hair, wrinkles, or menopause

It stops the whole evening. One gray strand, that’s all it takes for the whole evening to be ruined, and now she’s got to find a fix. Guys understand that menopause can genuinely affect body image, and yes, some days probably do feel rough.
But they’re still going to struggle when he has to keep proving that they’re not secretly horrified by a woman showing signs of aging. They don’t find it appealing that she’s so terrified of normal body changes.
Moving and carrying herself as though she is already elderly

A few women over 50 make themselves seem a lot older, mostly because they keep moving cautiously without needing to. They slump through every room and treat ordinary activity like an extreme sport. Because apparently, they’re ancient now.
That’s definitely not an attractive way to be, and it just comes off as kind of defeatist, really. It’s fine to have pain or have genuine health problems, that’s not what we’re talking about here. The problem’s with women who give up early and seem to think they’re elderly. No way.
Having no identity outside being a mother

Try asking her what she enjoys. She might say something about what her daughter enjoys, rather than telling you her own opinion. It’s because she has no identity outside of being a mother or even a grandmother.
The role has swallowed everything else in her life, including her opinions and interests. Her friendships and future plans are all based around this one role. Guys aren’t usually interested in a woman who behaves like that.
