You’re always tired—even after a full night’s sleep

Despite your best efforts at sleeping early, you find yourself rolling out of bed at 6 a.m., still feeling exhausted. If you find yourself yawning and rubbing your eyes all day long, then it’s your mind and your emotions waning. Your job feels like it’s sucking the life out of you.
You dread Mondays (and Tuesdays… and Wednesdays)

You lie on the bed at night on Sundays, already dreading the thought of work and your Monday morning alarm. But the feeling doesn’t subside by Tuesday. It only follows you throughout the week as you wait for a weekend that never seems to come.
You have no energy left for your personal life

You finish work late and just want to go home, bury your head in a pillow, and zone out. You find you have no more energy left for friends, family, errands, hobbies, or anything.
You feel emotionally numb or disconnected

You find you can no longer feel excited, motivated, overjoyed, loved, or enraged like you used to. You feel no emotions, only emptiness. This is what we call burnout.
You’re getting sick more often

Sometimes stress and anxiety can really do a number on your immune system. Stress weakens your resistance to infections, and so those normal ailments you used to shrug off, like headaches, flu, or digestive issues, come to plague you now more frequently.
You feel unappreciated or invisible

Despite working so hard, you receive no feedback, no recognition, and no thanks. It’s like you’re an invisible cog in the machine that the company could run without. You no longer feel like your contribution matters.
You’re easily irritated by everything

Suddenly, little requests from coworkers like grabbing a coffee or sharing an update with your boss can set you off. Even simple requests set you off. You realize you have zero patience left.
You’ve lost interest in growing or learning

You used to be open, curious, and eager to learn and improve. Not anymore. Now, you don’t care. You’ve gone into survival mode instead of growth mode.
You constantly fantasize about quitting

You often daydream about walking out, switching careers, or starting a business just to escape. You may not be quitting yet, but your brain is already telling your feet to run.
You feel stuck, but you don’t know what to do

You know that something is wrong with your current situation, but you don’t have the mental and emotional energy to really dig down and find out how to fix it. You have no idea how to update your resume or even look for a new job; it just feels like too much effort.
You start to doubt yourself

You were once a confident and capable person who believed in yourself, but after months of slowly bleeding energy and self-doubt, your job has slowly chipped away at that confidence. You now feel like you are no good, and it’s getting harder and harder to believe in yourself.
You don’t recognize yourself anymore

You’ve lost the spark, the bounce, the excitement that you used to have. You don’t laugh, smile, or enjoy as much. Life has been sucked out of you because of your job.
