Goldfish

Goldfish are classic pets and very low maintenance. They need a medium-sized tank with water and a filter system. They do not need a ton of room, but they do need water changes every week or two. Goldfish simply eat simple fish flakes and feeding them once or twice a day is enough. So long as their water remains fresh, they can generally live a long healthy life.
Leopard Gecko

Leopard geckos are calm pets that do not need much attention. A simple tank with a source of heat and some places to hide will be enough for them. You could feed them live insects like crickets every other day. They also drink very little water and their waste is easy to clean up.

Guinea pigs are social, but they don’t need a lot of playtime from humans. A few minutes of attention each day and fresh food are enough to keep them happy.
Betta Fish

Betta fish can be kept in small tanks (6-8 gallons) as they are not really big. They do well in pure water and need weekly water changes. Bettas only need to be fed once a day with a few pellets of fish food at the most. They do not require a filter or a heater, unlike other popular fish.
Hermit Crabs

Hermit crabs are quite an interesting pet that requires very little attention. Their tank should have moist sand for them to burrow in and some hiding spots. They eat fruits, veggies, and special crab food. Hermit crabs are mostly active at night, so they won’t need much interaction.
Turtles

Turtles are known for their long lives and easy care. They require a tank with water to swim but also with dry land where they can rest. They need a small heat lamp to stay warm under, and they eat leafy greens, along with some food made just for turtles. Their tank only needs cleaning every week or two. They are very easy to handle.
Hamsters

Hamsters are small and cute pets that most people love. They need a simple cage with bedding, a running wheel & a little house to hide in. They will eat hamster pellets and fresh veggies. The cage only needs to be cleaned once a week. Due to their nocturnal nature, they can be left alone during the day.
Frogs

Some frogs like dwarf frogs are great for new pet owners. All they need is an aquarium filled with water and a couple of rocks or plants to hide behind. They need to eat very little and can survive on only a few insects every week. Frogs don’t need much space, and their tanks are easy to clean. Once you set up their tank, they need very little attention.
Snakes

Snakes like corn snakes are surprisingly low maintenance. They need a tank with a few hiding places and a heat source. Snakes only eat once a week – usually small mice. Their tanks don’t need to be cleaned often & they don’t need daily attention. With proper care, snakes can live for many years without much effort from their owners.
Cats

Cats are independent creatures. They can take care of themselves for most of the day. Cats need food, fresh water, and a clean litter box. As they groom themselves, they rarely need baths. Cats love to nap and they don’t need constant attention. This is why people consider them to be low-maintenance pets.
