Joseph and His Brothers

Being sold into slavery is horrible and it’s even worse when it’s because of your own brothers! That’s exactly what happened to Joseph. Years later, when they came begging for food and didn’t know who he was, Joseph chose to forgive them instead of seeking revenge. He decided to heal old wounds rather than score points.
The Prodigal Son

In the parable of the prodigal son, a young man blows all his inheritance & comes crawling back to his dad, expecting the worst. But instead of a lecture, his dad welcomes him with open arms—and a big party. The point? Your parents’ love can overlook big mess-ups. It’s never too late to come back and make things right.

Jesus Forgives Peter

Peter messed up big time when he denied knowing Jesus. And not just once but three times! But after Jesus came back, he didn’t give Peter a hard time—instead, he chose to forgive him & reward him with a big job. Even when we mess up with our closest friends, there’s always room for forgiveness.
The Unforgiving Servant

The story of the unforgiving servant is about a man who gets what we all want—debt forgiveness! The king forgives his debt, yet the servant turns around & doesn’t forgive a small debt owed to him. The story warns us that we shouldn’t be stingy with forgiveness, especially when we’ve been forgiven ourselves.
King David and Absalom

Absalom, David’s son, caused quite a bit of trouble by starting a rebellion against his dad. When Absalom died, rather than celebrating, David mourned for his son, showing that forgiveness can sometimes involve letting go of the hurt. Accepting loss is difficult for everyone but there’s a great power in doing it.
The Adulterous Woman

When a woman was caught cheating and brought to Jesus, he stopped her accusers in their tracks. He challenged anyone without sin to throw the first stone. His actions remind us that everyone makes mistakes—sometimes, mercy is the best response that you can give. Nobody’s perfect!
Jonah and Nineveh

Jonah warned the people of Nineveh multiple times about their wrongdoings, although they didn’t listen to him. So, as you might expect, he wasn’t exactly happy when God forgave those people. Yet that’s the point of the story. It’s teaching us that we need to accept that others can change & deserve forgiveness even if we think they don’t.
Jesus Heals a Paralyzed Man

Before healing a paralyzed man, Jesus first told him his sins were forgiven. It’s a story that shows how forgiveness can be healing on both a physical & emotional level. Yes, Jesus restored the man’s ability to walk—but he gave him a fresh start. The healing we need helps our bodies & our spirits.
Philemon and Onesimus

Paul wrote to Philemon and asked him to forgive his runaway slave, Onesimus. He wanted to accept him as a brother instead of just a servant, which teaches us that we should forgive everyone. After all, we’re all human! Our relationships should be built on mutual respect & forgiveness.
