Though they live a life of fame and luxury, these famous faces are just as weird as us mere mortals.
Tom Cruise

Tom Cruise is said to have an unusual bed situation at home. Reports from one of his homes noted there was a tiny dark soundproof room that Cruise could sleep in so his snoring wouldn’t wake anyone else.
This tidbit has popped up in multiple reports on his house over the years, but Cruise hasn’t said much publicly about the room or his sleep situation. So take that tidbit with a grain of salt and consider it something reported about his house, not about him directly.
Elon Musk

Elon Musk has had notoriously extreme work patterns for some time. Musk at one time scheduled his work day into five minute slots so that he could accomplish as much as possible each day. He has also claimed to consume vast quantities of Diet Coke, later claiming to moderate his intake.
When Tesla was pushing to increase vehicle production, Musk said he slept on the factory floor instead of driving home and back. News reports claim he kept a sleeping bag in a conference room near the assembly line.
Heidi Klum

Heidi Klum has kept one of the weirder good luck charms with her at all times: her baby teeth.
Interviews have revealed Klum takes care to keep a small bag containing teeth she received as a child. She explained that Germany lacked a tooth fairy culture and so she instead saved her teeth. She has called it her crazy little thing and credited it with bringing her luck.
Given how personal this is, it’s quite unusual that she reportedly still takes the little bag along when she travels.
Eminem

It has been reported that Eminem will go to extreme lengths to make his hotel room as dark as possible to sleep in. Claims have been made that he tapes up windows with aluminum foil when staying at hotels. White noise might also aid his sleep as there have been reports of him using this as well.
And due to how much touring and performing Eminem does, it makes sense he needs his hotel room to be dark and quiet to sleep.
Bill Gates

Bill Gates rocks back and forth when he concentrates. His rocking has been a reported behavior for decades now.
The 1994 New Yorker biography of Gates mentioned him rocking at his desk when working, in meetings, on airplanes, and while listening to speeches. Gates has attributed this behavior to excess energy, even remembering his parents putting him on a rocking horse to get him to fall asleep when he was little.
So we know Gates rocks. But does he do it to help himself concentrate like some websites say? Gates has spoken about it, of course, but the exact psychological role of this behavior isn’t a proven certainty.
Jennifer Aniston

It’s said that Jennifer Aniston used to have a highly detailed ritual before each flight. She explained that she would tap the outside of the plane with her right hand, then step on board with her right foot.
Her quirky ritual was born from a fear of flying and helped her to feel better about getting on a plane. It’s a good thing this is just a past practice. Nowadays, Aniston has revealed that hypnosis did the trick for her flying phobia, and she’s stopped doing that old routine.
Stephen King

Stephen King’s writing ritual is oddly consistent. In fact, it’s stranger in its consistency than in its content.
King has said he sits down to write every morning between 8:00 and 8:30. Before he begins, he’ll have a glass of water or tea, take a vitamin pill, put on some music, sit in his seat, and organize his papers in the same places.
He says this series of repeated behaviors allows him to trigger a mental state that it is time to write. His routine is quirky in that even small aspects of his environment are part of the ritual.
Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga revealed a bizarre self soothing method that she has practiced. During an interview for Vogue, Gaga admitted that if she’s ever lonely she will rub her left foot with her right foot.
She even asked the interviewer if that was weird. The interviewer pointed out it was self-soothing, and Gaga acknowledged this.
Rihanna

Rihanna says she has “no real sleep schedule” when she’s busy with music, fashion, and other business projects.
“When it comes to sleeping, I don’t have a sleep schedule. I have sleep pockets. Wherever I can squeeze it in, I do,” Rihanna told Interview magazine. She added that she’ll work until around 4 or 5 AM some nights.
She doesn’t mention a set bedtime or wake up time. Her sleep schedule is when she can sleep, not when she should sleep.
Nicolas Cage

Nicolas Cage follows an incredibly strange rule when it comes to eating meat. Cage has stated that he refuses to eat pork because he doesn’t like how pigs mate.
The actor went on to say that he will eat fish and birds because they conduct intercourse in a more respectable manner. And his taste in poultry is dictated by his personal opinion on how animated family movies portray animals mating.
It’s one of the more bizarre food dilemmas we’ve heard a celebrity admit to.
Megan Fox

In order to calm herself down during flights, Megan Fox started listening exclusively to Britney Spears.
The actress told reporters that she pops Britney Spears into her headphones when she flies and revealed that she actually talked herself into believing that she couldn’t be dying in a plane crash if she was listening to a Britney album. Crazy, right?
What’s more crazy is that Fox admits that the ritual was sort of ridiculous but she still uses it. She wasn’t simply enjoying her preferred music mid-air; Britney Spears was her anchor against her illogical fears.
Jason Segel

Jason Segel has been infatuated with puppets ever since he was a child. His collection grew to the point where he supposedly owned a second home that was used partially as a writing studio and partially as a storage for puppets.
He’s said to possess roughly 15 to 30 puppets, with other interviews noting his LA place was practically overflowing with them. What started as a childhood love for the Muppets blossomed into a collection that became deeply woven into his career.
He actually used his own puppets in homemade productions before turning the idea into the puppet musical featured in Forgetting Sarah Marshall. So this isn’t just some random star who has a couple weird knick-knacks; puppets have played a role in Segel’s career since he was a kid.
Mariah Carey

Recording artist Mariah Carey has claimed to have an extensive sleeping ritual. Carey has stated that she requires up to 15 hours of sleep in order to sing optimally, explaining that she has slept with 20 humidifiers around her bed.
Carey compared the sensation of sleeping with numerous humidifiers to being in a steam room. She has said that she uses the high humidity because her career puts unique strain on her voice.
