There’s so much relationship advice and so many relationship expectations that never get said out loud, mostly because explaining them would ruin the whole point.
The second question matters

Most guys are able to keep track of when their partner has a big event coming up. The problem is, so many of them forget about the follow-up questions. She might’ve told him on Monday that the meeting on Wednesday was going to be awful. Wednesday came and went.
She’s expecting him to ask on Thursday how it went, but no. He doesn’t ask. Women expect there to be a follow-up because it shows that he remembered the story. He kept her in his thoughts, even after the event was over.
Dinner arrives with a plan

Being considerate is one thing. Asking a dozen questions about where to go for dinner is another. Women like having the choice of where to eat, sure, but sometimes, they just want their partner to decide for them. They want him to turn around and say, ‘I booked that place you liked for 7:30.’
That doesn’t mean he needs to become a full-time event planner, that’d be odd. But it’d be nice if he could make one complete plan without having to outsource every little decision to her. It would be quite the welcome change.
The job gets spotted first

The laundry basket is overflowing, and there are no clean glasses left. Women don’t always mind doing chores, of course. But they don’t like being the only person in the house who remembers that the chores exist.
They expect their partners to notice what needs doing in the house before they delegate it to them. It’s not just the physical jobs, either. No, women often have to do more of the planning and noticing side. They’d really appreciate it if men could notice what’s wrong without being told.
The rescue doesn’t need explaining

There are always times when we need to be rescued. Not because we’re in serious danger, but because we’re at a party talking to someone who’s boring us, for example. Most women expect their partners to help them during those situations.
Yes, a woman often expects her man to know her well. He should know her well enough to wander over and give her an easy exit from a conversation, without her needing to prompt him. She expects him to understand her social cues.
One trip becomes two drinks

Here’s one that’s so easy to miss. A guy gets up to make coffee and comes back with exactly one mug. It doesn’t seem like there’s anything technically wrong there, but there is, and she’s certainly noticed. She’s expecting him to bring her something when he’s already getting one for himself.
It could be something as small as a snack, or maybe something like a blanket. Whatever the item is doesn’t matter, and no, she doesn’t want to be waited on. The expectation here is that he’ll think about whether she wants one too.
Her little system stays intact

Perhaps she always puts the big mugs on the left, or maybe she always leaves her hair clips in one particular dish. Whatever the system might be, it probably sounds a little silly. Yet she’s expecting him to put things back exactly how she likes them.
It might look completely pointless to everyone else, yes, but that’s not important. The truth is, women expect men to learn their little systems and organize things the way they like them. It makes things a whole lot simpler for the pair of them.
Her calendar isn’t only anniversaries

Remembering your anniversary is something that’s so expected that it’s not worth mentioning. What is worth discussing, however, is remembering dates that matter mainly to her. She expects her man to remember her dad’s birthday and the day her sister gets exam results.
She also expects him to remember the anniversary of a sad event she might not make a big thing about. She doesn’t want to keep reminding him about it. Really, she just wants him to remember things that matter to her.
Her order survives her absence

There’s something so satisfying about hearing that a guy’s ordered for you and got it right. We don’t mean ‘roughly right’ or ‘almost right.’ No, exactly right, down to the specific kind of condiments that she wants with her order.
A lot of women expect their partners to order for them correctly when they’re not there. Doing so requires getting that kind of useless-but-useful knowledge that you learn over time. When a guy can do it without her being there, it’s a sign the information has actually stuck.
The extra effort gets noticed

She might’ve spent longer getting ready tonight, perhaps because she did her hair differently or because she picked an outfit she doesn’t normally wear. Either way, she’s expecting him to notice it.
She’s expecting that he’ll say how different she looks, in a good way, without her having to say anything. It’s not because she necessarily needs his approval. It’s more to do with the fact that she made an effort, and she expects that he’ll recognize that.
The small discomfort gets remembered

Most women expect their men to remember what they dislike. For example, she might mention once that she hates sitting near the kitchen door. She expects that, months later, he’ll automatically ask for another table if the waiter shows them that table.
None of the issues are usually big enough to keep bringing up, of course. That’s actually part of the reason why she’s hoping he’ll remember the problem of his own accord. Having to tell him each time about her discomfort gets annoying.
The bad gift stays off the list

Some guys have the annoying habit of buying their partners generic gifts that they assume they’ll like. They buy them candles because, well, all women like candles, apparently. But they seem to forget which exact scent she dislikes.
Women expect their partners to remember their likes and dislikes when it comes to gifts. She’ll mention once or twice what she prefers, then she’s expecting him to remember it.
The throwaway idea comes back

It was probably a very quick sentence. She said something like, ‘I’d love to go there one day,’ then she carried on talking, without bringing it up again. The expectation here is that he’ll bring it up when they’re booking their vacation.
Women want their partners to remember their hopes for the future and the things they say they want to do ‘one day.’ It’s rare for a guy to remember those random little wishes she shared. That’s why it’s so important when she finds a guy who does.
