Some of the signs a guy is falling for you can be pretty obvious, but some of them take a little more effort to really notice.Â
He starts finding reasons to see you more often than before

Seeing him used to require an actual plan, but not so much anymore. He’ll swing by because he ‘has something for you’ or he’ll somehow end up free on the exact evening you mentioned having no plans. It could be that he has real reasons, sure. But it’s kind of convenient.
Spending time together is one of the everyday ways couples stay close with each other. A guy who’s looking for extra pockets of time with you, even boring ones, is a guy who’s interested in you. It’s as simple as that.
He starts assuming there will be a next time

Speaking of time, there’s an interesting moment that happens before you’ve even discussed the future. He might speak about how you ‘have to try’ that restaurant together next month. He tells you about what movie the two of you can watch after he gets back from a trip.
Pay attention. He’s telling you that he’s assuming there’s a next time, and that he’s expecting the relationship will continue. He’s not exactly planning years ahead or anything, but he’s thinking about next Tuesday. That may be enough for now.
He starts revealing the less impressive version of himself

You might recognize that the polished version of him has started slipping a little. Not because he stopped caring, but because he’s feeling more comfortable. He’s fine with admitting that he completely messed something up at work or letting you see him tired.
It matters more than another perfect date, honestly. Being so open about yourself in a romantic relationship can make you grow closer with the other person, especially when you share things that make you feel exposed. You’re getting the version he doesn’t hand out to everybody. That’s a good sign.
He brings you into parts of his life that existed long before you

You’re no longer simply doing date things with him. Now, you’re visiting places he’s been to since college and meeting the friend he’s known forever. You might be hearing family stories that require a lot of backstory.
Such a change happens when romantic partners become more connected to each other’s existing social circles. A guy’s long-term contacts tend to overlap when his relationship starts to develop. Think about it this way. He’s opening doors that were already there before you arrived, and that’s pretty positive.
He begins mentioning you to other people

You might notice something when you finally meet one of his long-term contacts, too. They somehow know the stories that you told him, and they know little details about your plans. It feels strange because you never told these people. But he did.
Yes, romantic partners usually become more connected to each other’s loved ones as relationships grow. That includes a lot of talking when the other person isn’t around. Your name has made its way into conversations you weren’t invited to. Take it as a good thing.
He tries to understand your internal world

Knowing where you went to school is one thing. Wanting to know why you hated it so much is different, and that’s what counts. It shows you that, actually, he’s not trying to only get the rundown on your biography.
He wants to go deeper than that to figure out what’s actually going on. He’s gone past the getting-to-know-you territory and is slap-bang in the middle of the wanting-to-understand-you side. You can’t get much more intimate than that, in all honesty.
He starts contacting you at times when he normally wouldn’t

The time when he contacts you might tell you more than the message itself. Pay attention if he sends you a random text during his lunch break. It shows you that he’s thinking of you during a part of the day that normally belongs to something else.
He’s not doing it to necessarily get anything out of the conversation. He’s just thinking about you during those times that seem unimportant. That’s not to say a guy messaging you at 3 AM is in love with you, but the guy who’s messaging while he’s waiting for the train could be.
He calls instead of only texting

Let’s not forget about the way he’s contacting you, either. A call is a little inconvenient, and that’s kind of the point because it means he can’t sit there editing himself for five minutes. He can’t disappear mid-conversation without it being obvious.
He has to reply to you there-and-then. The fact he’s willing to be so vulnerable in that way is a strong sign that he’s falling, or has fallen, for you. He’s also decided to call you to hear your voice. It’s a good sign something’s changed.
He begins giving you updates you didn’t ask for

You didn’t ask. Yet somehow, you’re still getting messages from it that didn’t really need to be sent, like updates on how the meeting went or the fact that he’s finally home after work. It’s during that moment that dating gets weirdly domestic.
Most people don’t talk about it so openly, but it’s true. It counts. A lot of relationship communication is actually pretty ordinary, and not deeply personal or romantic. It’s not like the movies, in other words, and people talk about regular stuff. That’s why it feels different.
He starts leaving things at your place or making space for yours at his

It starts off with him leaving a charger at your place, and then a sweatshirt appears. Perhaps he leaves a place for your toothbrush at his place. Whatever it is, physically changing space for each other shows a growing sense of closeness.
It’s not always a giant decision or anything. No, it’s more like a set of small ones that show you’re growing close emotionally, too. Don’t expect him to announce that he’s going to start leaving toiletries at your place because, chances are, he’ll just start doing it.Â
