I don’t know about you, but I’ve sure looked around my house & asked, where the heck did all this stuff come from? We all love to stash things “just in case” or because we don’t know we’re adding up. But that junk can soon start to feel like it’s taking up space.
I’ve noticed that when I finally get rid of what I don’t need, my house feels lighter and spacious. Don’t misunderstand, I do not mean tossing it all away, it’s just making room for the essentials. For those of you who are like me and don’t even know where to begin, here are 10 decluttering items you will not even miss.

Expired Beauty Products

That lipstick or empty bottle of lotion that’s in the cupboard? That’s not doing you any favors. Expired make-up and skincare products don’t work properly or even damage your skin. Don’t use them if they’re expired, or you’ve not opened them in months. You won’t miss anything & your bathroom will be a lot more clean.
Old Tupperware and Mismatched Containers

Everybody has that drawer with the wrong lids and the stained containers. Unless you have the matching piece or it is too squished for good use, throw it away. Pick up a couple of decent sets that do the job, and your kitchen will look a lot more tidy.

Old Magazines and Newspapers

We all keep some magazines or newspapers thinking we will read it one more time — well actually, we probably won’t. They simply sit there, dusty. Unless there’s something special about them, like a favorite recipe or article, it’s time to recycle them. Your coffee table or bookshelf will thank you for that.
Unused Kitchen Gadgets

Got an avocado slicer or waffle maker you never use? These random gadgets can be a huge clutter in your kitchen. If they’ve been kicking around a cabinet for decades, you probably should get rid of them. Limit yourself to the tools you actually use & have room to cook and move.
Clothes That Don’t Fit or You Don’t Wear

Everybody has “maybe one-day” dresses in the closet. Donate them if they don’t fit or haven’t been worn in a year. Someone else might need them & you’ll have closet space for the things you already love and wear all the time.
Old Chargers and Random Cords

Ever opened a drawer full of tangled cords and thought, “What even is this for?” If you have chargers for devices you no longer own or mystery cables you’ve never used, it’s time to get rid of them. Recycle what you can & enjoy having a neat and tidy drawer again.
Outdated Electronics

Got an old phone, broken tablet, or a random gadget that stopped working years ago? These things add up quickly and you’re not probably ever going to repair or use them. Go to electronic recycle centers & donate them.
Unused Holiday Decorations

Christmas décor can get out of control, especially if you have flickering lights or ornaments you don’t use. If it’s something you haven’t displayed in years, chances are it’s no good. Clean these out & you will never have a hard time finding your own favorite decorations again.
Books You’ll Never Read Again

Books are great, but if your bookshelves are overflowing with ones you didn’t like or aren’t going to read again, it’s time to give them away. Libraries or book drives would adore them, and you’ll have less clutter in your room.
Random Freebies and Trinkets

Free pens, totes, keychains & other random swag rack up. Most of these are invisible and unseen. Throw them away, and your tabletop will be clutter-free instantly. Besides, you probably won’t even notice they’re gone.
