Fireworks are fun to watch, but it’s no secret that loud fireworks are not for everyone. Pets freak out, babies cry, and some people just want to spend an evening outside without the sound of a war zone in the neighborhood.

Floating Lantern Launch

Use lanterns, not fireworks. Light paper lanterns and release them into the sky. It’s peaceful and lovely, and offers something to look at that doesn’t require earplugs. Be sure they’re fireproof and legal in your area.
Light-Up Kite Flying

Tie glow sticks or mini LED strips to a kite and launch it after the sun sets. It makes soft swooshes of color in the air as it flies. It’s calming to watch, with just a hint of magic. Great for both kids and adults.
Sparkle Bubbles

Assemble a bubble machine and place lights around it or behind it. The bubbles will pick up the color and sparkle as they drift through the yard. It’s magical and completely silent. Use scent-infused bubbles to create stronger party vibes.
Projection Fireworks on a Wall or Sheet

Use a projector to display firework visuals onto a blank wall or white sheet. The colors burst and swirl just like the real thing but without any noise. It works especially well if you sync it with music or a countdown.
LED Balloon Drop

Fill balloons that are large and clear with mini glow sticks or battery operated lights. Drop them at the right moment. They bounce and glow. It is a silly, playful sight. Guests will remember it more than another big loud boom.
