There have been stories about Jesus having secret children for years, and some people believe that His descendants would have some rather specific characteristics.
A feeling of being called

Some people have a rather powerful sense of purpose. It’s the kind of nagging feeling where they feel like they’re supposed to be doing something important, but they can’t quite put their finger on what it is. It’s something that Jesus’ supposed descendants would feel quite strongly. It makes sense, really.
Jesus was pretty certain about His own mission, and no scene shows that more clearly than in Luke 4.
He reads from Isaiah at a synagogue in Nazareth and talks about His goal of helping the poor and freeing captives. Those in His bloodline might feel that same sense of inner certainty, although it might take them years to figure out where it leads them.
An instinct for kindness

Compassion is a trait that’s very closely associated with Jesus, although it goes beyond Him simply healing people. Just look at Matthew 9:36, for example. It’s a scene where He looked at a crowd of struggling people and felt genuine compassion for them, like their troubles were His.
It’s this kind of kindness that people think His descendants would have. Yes, for them, compassion isn’t something they have to think about, as it comes entirely naturally to them. We might not know whether He had children, true. But it’s easy to imagine them being compassionate.
An extraordinary personal appeal

One of the most interesting things about Jesus is just how many people wanted to be around him. He had a magnetic kind of charisma and speaking ability that made people travel long distances to see him. That was all without the power of modern advertising, too.
You might not have people traveling that far to do the same thing, but you could still have a natural ability to attract people. His descendant would be someone who draws attention without trying. They put people at ease almost immediately, but without being the loudest person in the room.
A sensitivity to suffering

The story of Lazarus is pretty famous. You know the one, it features Jesus arriving to see that Lazarus’s family is devastated by his death, and Jesus starts crying. He decides to bring Lazarus back to life.
What’s important here isn’t so much the resurrection, but the part in John 11 where it mentions that Jesus was moved by the grief around Him. That’s a great example of how emotionally sensitive Jesus was. So, it makes sense that people believe His descendants would be the same way.
A special kind of reassurance

It’s so nice being around someone who has a way of making everything feel a little less stressful. Jesus was like that. There are plenty of examples, like when He helped calm His worried followers in Mark 4. They were panicked while on a boat on the Sea of Galilee during a storm.
This sort of remarkable calmness, where someone can keep their head through it all, is a quality many people imagine Jesus’s descendants would have. They have a unique kind of reassurance. Even the most nervous of people feel at ease when they’re around this person.
An unusually firm moral compass

Jesus wasn’t exactly someone who’d let unfairness slide. It didn’t matter whether that injustice involved powerful religious leaders, like in Matthew 23:23, where He criticizes them. He called them out for strictly following religious rules while ignoring justice and mercy.
That strong sense of justice is something that His descendants are likely to have, too. They’re able to clearly see when someone is being mistreated, and they’ll do their best to fix things. It doesn’t matter that speaking up might be uncomfortable because, well, they’ll do it anyway.
A lack of personal pride

You might expect one of Jesus’s descendants to shout about their family history from the rooftops. But that’s exactly what they wouldn’t do. Jesus was pretty humble Himself, after all, and those in His possible bloodline will behave the same way.
Just look at Philippians 2, where He is described as someone who willingly humbled himself. He could’ve tried to achieve personal glory, but no, He didn’t want to be so self-important. His descendants aren’t exactly shy, though. Being humble and shy aren’t the same thing.
A rare ability to let go

It’s not easy to forgive someone who treated you badly. It’s even harder when they’ve shown you no remorse. But what makes Jesus’s descendants different is that they’ll try to forgive other people anyway, despite all that.
It’s a scene we see in Luke 23:34, where Jesus asks God to forgive those involved in His crucifixion. People in His bloodline are, therefore, just as forgiving by nature. They’re not going to hold onto grudges and get their own back because it’s not how they do things.
An ability to read people

We’ve all met that kind of person who seems to know what we’re thinking, without us ever actually saying anything. It sure does feel weird. Turns out, that kind of highly intuitive person could be a descendant of Jesus.
He knew what was in people’s hearts, and John 2:25 is quite clear about this ability. A very intuitive person can easily notice someone else’s dishonesty. They’ll be able to pick up on the feelings that a lot of people might miss, and they read others really well.
An unusual mark from birth

Not all traits are mental, of course. One of the physical ones is having a red birthmark, and it’s something that legends claim shows someone’s directly part of Jesus’s bloodline. It’s a red birthmark that’s meant to be shaped like a cross, either over your heart or between your shoulder blades.
Science says that red birthmarks are caused by differences in blood vessels beneath your skin. Certain kinds of birthmarks can also run in families. But even so, the Merovingian Kings of France supposedly all had these birthmarks. They could apparently trace their history back to Jesus.
An exceptionally steady temperament

When someone’s trying to make you angry, it’s very easy to lose your temper. That is, unless you’re one of Jesus’s descendants. He had an incredible sense of patience that He might’ve passed onto His children, so they’re able to keep their calm.
You can see that in 1 Peter 2:23. People insulted Him, but He refused to reply with similar insults or to threaten revenge. Jesus’s children may still feel angry or frustrated. Yet they’re not going to let those emotions take over, and they’ll make sure to keep their head.
