There are a few looks that some men think look good, but women see them as something else entirely.
The painted-on beard

A painted-on beard seems good enough, but up close, it doesn’t take long for the illusion to fall apart. Your hair fibers are supposed to cling to, you know, real hairs, and it becomes pretty obvious that yours aren’t real.
Color sitting on the skin like a flat stripe doesn’t look like a beard. No, it comes off more like stage makeup, and women tend to prefer stubble or medium-length growth, anyway. Having such a hard outline looks weird.
Spray-on skinny jeans

Fitted jeans are one thing, denim that looks vacuum-sealed is another. Spray-on skinny jeans usually bunch at the knees and pull across the thighs. That’s hardly a good look, especially since it makes every pocket line visible.Â
A lot of men like the sharp look, especially after leg day, but women feel quite different. They don’t like how ultra-tight trousers make you struggle to move or hang very well because they really don’t look attractive. It makes it seem like your jeans are doing all the work.
The enormous bodybuilder physique

There’s a big difference between huge muscles and looking fit, yet a lot of guys don’t know anything about it. Women do, though. They don’t usually like it when guys have shoulders that are too wide or arms too thick. It makes them look more like a bodybuilder than a hot guy.
That’s not to say strength isn’t attractive or anything, it definitely is. It’s just that there’s a point when more and more actually stops helping. You’ve got to figure out the distinction between the two.
The aggressively sharp hairline

There’s nothing wrong with a clean edge-up. But there is a problem when your hairline looks like you’ve drawn it on with a ruler and filled it in with spray, as the dark fibers square off the temples. They lower the front edge and create a line that’s almost too perfect.Â
You need to be more careful with blending your hairline. Don’t forget about close color matching, that’ll help you avoid any kind of painted look. Women prefer it when guys have a neat hairline, in all honesty.
The man bun with severely shaved sides

That’s not all when it comes to hair. A regular man bun already divides people, but it’s the one with sides shaved to the skin that takes that division a lot further. You know the kind, it’s the one with a tiny knot on top and bare sides, as well as a hard line between the two.Â
That kind of hairstyle has no soft transition at all. Most women don’t even like man buns, anyway, and an undercut topknot makes the whole thing a lot worse. It doesn’t matter how much men might see it as edgy and clean because, really, women don’t.
The sculpted chinstrap beard

There are very few beard styles that look as bad as a chinstrap, and that’s mostly because it leaves the cheeks looking empty. A chinstrap is meant to sharpen your face, sure. It doesn’t usually work out that way.
Even the research backs it up, as in one study of 2,000 adults, only 4% picked the chinstrap. 55% preferred stubble and 24% liked a short beard. It’s basically a fact. Chinstraps are totally out.
The tiny ankle-baring suit

The thing with tight suits is that they should fit close without being too tight. There are some guys who like wearing the ankle-baring type because they think the cropped jacket and tight sleeves look good. Most women don’t think so.
The worst part about skinny suits is that they restrict movement and don’t hang properly, so they don’t make you look good. Every seam makes it look like you’re one deep breath away from trouble.
The eyebrow slit

It’s tiny. An eyebrow slit is so small that it’s usually quite easy to ignore, but it often pulls a lot of attention for something so insignificant. Brows are a big part of face recognition. When you put a slit in one, you’re breaking that line, and it’s hard for women to take guys like that seriously.
It also looks pretty immature, let’s be honest. It’s not so much a natural feature as forced styling, and it really doesn’t look as attractive as you might think. You’re best off keeping both brows intact.
The huge luxury watch

Some men think a giant watch gives them status, whether that’s because of the heavy metal or the famous logo. It’s something nobody could possibly miss, and that’s part of the reason why women dislike them.Â
They think the guy’s trying far too hard. It’s never a good look when a guy has a watch with a case that’s wider than the wrist wearing it. You can still wear a watch if you want, of course. You just need to tone down the attention-seeking part.
The bleached buzz cut

There’s a big problem with bleached buzz cuts, and that’s all to do with the color. It might look confident when it’s new, but once the color turns brassy, it’s not so pretty. It also doesn’t look nice when the scalp shows through, or any dark roots start appearing.Â
There’s also the fact that women tend to prefer brown hair over blond overall. Fresh platinum can work as a one-off, but three weeks later, it’s a completely different story.
Tactical clothing in ordinary settings

It takes a certain kind of man to pull off tactical pants. That doesn’t stop most men from trying to wear them, though. They’ll wear them during coffee runs or trips to the supermarket because they think it makes them look like they’re put together.
Most women can’t understand why anyone would want to go out in all the straps and camouflage on an ordinary day. Unless you’ve got a genuine reason to wear tactical clothing, you might want to keep it in the closet.
