Everyone says that men don’t care what women wear, but guys mentally check out the second certain outfits come into a room.
The eye thing

False eyelashes look glamorous sometimes. But other times, they look exhausting. Most men aren’t exactly analyzing lash styles, yet they notice when they’re overdone. Really thick ones cast shadows under your eyes. They make your blinking look slower.
Eye contact also feels less natural. The truth is, most men prefer moderate lash lengths over extremely long ones. There’s a limit. It’s the difference between ‘attractive’ and ‘distracting.’
The hand problem

You’ll see these nails everywhere online. They’re six-inch acrylics. They’re covered in gems and charms. Sure, they’re impressive, but attractive to most men? Not really. They see how hard it is to pick up a drink.Â
They see how hard it is to type a text. Most guys associate long nails with being high-maintenance. It’s unfair. But it’s true. The fact that long nails trap more dirt and bacteria underneath doesn’t help, either.
The disappearing shape

Oversized clothes are one thing. Looking like you’re wearing a comforter is another. Yes, huge hoodies with giant sweatpants underneath have become really common recently. Younger people love baggy fits. But men don’t respond well to it because the outfit hides everything.
There’s no shape. There’s no outline. No, guys don’t prefer tight clothes, as they do like relaxed outfits. They just don’t like outfits that look like clouds. They remember the hoodie more than the person wearing it.
The denim situation

One rip at the knees is fine. A little worn denim is also okay. But then there are the jeans that have more holes than fabric. It confuses many guys. They think that extremely ripped jeans look lazy. It’s not stylish.
Cleaner denim styles are back in. The shredded look doesn’t look good anymore, and many guys don’t want to go on a date with a woman wearing them.
The double-large look

Oversized blazers became popular. Oversized trousers became popular. Now, some women think both should happen at the same time. Guys don’t like that. No, they think it doesn’t seem like effortless chic, and it comes across more like an ‘80s regional bank manager’s outfit.
The shoulders look huge. The pants swallow the shoes. The shape is practically non-existent since it looks like you’re wearing a refrigerator box. One oversized item is okay. But only when it’s creating contrast. You’ll disappear inside the tailoring when everything’s oversized at once.
The uneven hem

High-low dresses look like they’ll work well. They never do. Sure, the photos make them seem expensive, but in real life, they confuse guys. The front says cocktail party. The back says medieval wedding guest. Let’s not start on the shoes.
Many guys can’t explain why they hate it. But they know they do. The uneven hem keeps pulling their attention down because the dress is so confusing. Is it formal? Is it casual? Is it short? Is it long? The jury’s out.
The pocket overload

Cargo skirts appeared out of nowhere. They divided everyone. Some women like them because they’re practical. They’re different. However, most men see them and think of one thing. They look like camping equipment.
It’s mostly because of the extra pockets and heavy stitching. Guys don’t think it’s soft. They don’t think it’s stylish. It looks tactical. Useful? For sure. But attractive? Definitely not.
The stiff throwback

Long denim skirts make guys think of two things. It’s either the early 2000s or someone’s extremely strict aunt. The dark blue rigid ones only make it worse. Yes, guys hate it when the skirts don’t flow or swing because they don’t soften the outfit at all.
Thick fabric makes the whole outfit look too heavy. It’s too serious. Weirdly enough, softer maxi skirts usually don’t look too bad. It’s only the stiff denim version. That’s the one that really loses guys, and for good reason.
The one-piece issue

Boiler suits seem cool in theory. It’s a different story when you wear one to dinner. Sure, some fashionistas will say they’re effortless and minimal. They’ll say they’re clean. But men ask themselves why a woman looks like she’s going to rotate their tires.
It sounds harsh. However, it’s the connection they make. The giant zipper doesn’t exactly help, and neither do the oversized pockets. Boiler suits on Instagram look nothing like they do in real life.Â
The tricky middle

Culottes really confuse guys. They’ll spend thirty seconds trying to work out what they’re looking at, and it’s all thanks to the shape. They’re wide like a skirt. They’re cropped like capris. But they’re also structured like dress pants, and that’s before you even get to the calf.
The proportions get weird. Many guys won’t know the word ‘culottes,’ but they know what they like. It’s not these pants.Â
